Residents of Mobil Housing Estate in Eket where greeted by a swam of Eket Youths who came out in their numbers to protest against the decision of Akwa Ibom State Government and ExxonMobil not to share the oil spill compensation money directly to the youths of the communities affected by the oil spillage.

The youths who came out with diverse traditional injunctions ranging from coffin to masquerades blocked the main entrance of the Mobil Housing Estate carrying placards that read “Mobil Insults Community with N2.6 Billion out of N26.5 Billion. Prepare for Outcome”.

According to the youths, the state government said they are using the money for the construction of Eket-Ibeno Road Project.
